THE COTTAGE CAMPAIGN

The Masonic Home of Georgia is in Macon. It was built in 1903-04, and the same building is still in use today.

The first children were accepted in 1905. Since that time over 2,200 have called it home. Today we have 28 children ranging in age from seven to twenty-one. There are 16 girls and 12 boys. All children are from Georgia and come from the following counties: Effingham, Monroe, Bullock, Barrow, Houston, Bibb, Gwinnett, Chatham, Mitchell, Walton, Tattnall, Dodge, Thomas, Ware, Carroll, and Jackson. Most of our children come from very dysfunctional families. The goal of the Cottage Campaign is to provide an environment that they may grow and mature in a loving and functional family.

Our children attend private schools in Macon. Homeschooling is provided to bring them up to the academic standards required by their schools. All children who stay in our program graduate high school. We pay for their college educations if they wish to pursue a degree. Three graduate high school this year and four are currently attending college. Our children live in a dormitory arrangement.

The Cottage Campaign is raising funds to build five cottages on the Macon campus. Each cottage will house eight children and their house parents. The Campaign will raise five million dollars to construct the five cottages and the required infrastructure such as utilities, street, and sewage facilities. Each cottage will have its own kitchen and living area.

Funds have been raised to build four cottages.  Three have been built and are occupied; construction on the fourth will commence in the fall of 2019.  Contributions are now being received for the fifth cottage.
